Home

We are home!!!
Eli and Sam under one roof!!!
Two babies... We have two babies?! Eli looks so big and acts so big but is still very much a baby.
So far, he seems unaffected by Sam's presence-- other than some spurts of curiosity and mimicking Sam's little squeaky cry. He gave Sam his binky tonight and it made Sam stop crying... and that really seemed to please Eli.
I think Eli had lots of fun and entertainment while I was in the hospital -- lots of time with wauwau and papa and Mimi -- he hardly seemed to notice I was gone.
We were looking in the mirror today and I said -- Eli look!! Mommas belly is almost gone. He looked for a minute, and then pulled up my shirt and said ThERE IT IS! Looks like I have a little work to do in the belly department.
Sam has been the quietest baby I have ever met-- until about an hour after we
got home. He has found his voice and he has discovered that it's way better
to be held. So far... That's fine by me. I know that he is my last and that I will blink and he will be as big as Eli. He's pretty easy to please and acts like he is starving every time we feed him. He has been taking 2 ounces (in 10 min or
less) and I say about 25 times per day how happy I am about my decision not to nurse. I know that there are many many many benefits to breastfeeding, but for me and my mental well-being (for so many reasons), this is the best option for us. And if I had any lingering doubt a few days ago, those doubts are completely gone.
So it's midnight, my babies are asleep ... Sam on my chest. I have replaced Sam's binky no less than once very 5 minutes... So I'm thinking it might be a long night. Good thing mike is ready and waiting to help out!
