peek a zoo

oh there is just something about flying over large bodies of water that just bugs me.

i have already started the ugly mom tears, since i put the boys to bed tonight for "the last time".

I know my odds of our plane crashing are pretty slim to none...

but somehow my brain goes to the glass half empty. 

why am i like that?
gotta be prepared for the worst.

since eli will be the one noticing that mommy and daddy are gone, and since sammy just got a big fuss of a birthday party sunday...

my mom guilt i felt he was due for a special mommy/eli day at the zoo. 

we had such a fun day.

we took jen and her girls... gracie and maddie. (or "other gracie" as eli calls her.)

eli was a good little boy, held my hand, rode in the stroller when he got tired, LOVED LOVED LOVED the animals. 

i have waited my whole life to have a 3 year old all my own to take to the zoo. 

and so... since i have to pack still tonight, purchase our luau tickets for friday night (yes, i said luau!), and finish laundry...

our day at the zoo is brought to you in pictures. 

the day started PERFECT...breezy and cool and jean jacket weather (mommy's fav!)

gracie was determined we would see orangatans.

i'm still not entirely convinced she knows what an orangatan is.

those have always been my favorite animal at the zoo!

and of course, the stupid dirty hillbilly goats.

eli LOVED them.

this goat was sleeping, but still chewing his food.

eli and gracie kept telling him he was "sleep-chewing!"

it was hysterical!

the goat. he was not amused.

we saw crocodiles

 
turtles

manetees

elephants

fish

you name it, we saw it.

we saw it all today.
usually when we go to the zoo, it feels like a WHOLE lotta walking and not a whole lotta animals.
today. today was a perfect zoo day.


and perfect day out with my #1.
number 2 stayed home with daddy, and played birthday toys ALLLL by his-self!!!


these two will be in GOOD hands with wauwau and little papa.
but boy will we EVER miss them!!!
(still going though!!)
