Back to real life

It's 6pm in Hawaii, and since I'm on Hawaii time ... Maybe I'll fall asleep sometime before the boys are due to wake up?!
Hawaii was amazing -- so amazing that we are crazy enough to go back with the boys in two years -- crazy enough to take them on plane rides that take days.
It truly is beautiful everywhere you look.
(Well, unless you are looking at a homeless man in Waikiki holding a sign that says "why lie? I need beer. ")
We made it back just in time for our little man to turn ONE!
It's hard to believe a year has passed. This time last year we had a little tiny baby in the nicu that just started breathing on his own with no tubes!
Sam and Eli hadnt even met each other yet.
Eli THOUGHT he knew what it meant to be a big brother ... But oh, he was just about to find out!!
It's funny to think how worried I was ... How would we manage TWO? How would i love TWO? How would I get TWO in a stroller? How would I give TWO baths?  It seemed so difficult. I mean, don't get me wrong, it IS difficult. But certainly not something to worry about. It all gets done. I just sweat a lot more and my hair gets done a lot less.  Life is crazy. Life is hectic. Some days Eli is still mean to Sam. But this is our life and it seems like it has always been our life.
(Although in Hawaii we had a week that reminded us of our "old life"!)
Wau-wau and little papa got broken in this past 8 days.
Including excursions to Walmart and toys R us!!
The boys hardly seemed to notice we were gone ... which is the best we could have hoped for ... They were well taken care of!!

Both boys packed on some lbs while we were gone and Sam got a tooth (molar!) and added a few more words to his vocabulary. Eli says I'm crazy, that's what wau-way says. Tonight we had to read FOUR books before I put Eli to bed, because he says that's what wau-wau does.

It is GOOD to be home. It was a much needed break for mike and I.

We re-grouped and actually got to talk to each other and be lazy and not just pass kids off between work shifts and report who pooped and who ate what.
We promised each other to stay feeling refreshed!
So far so good.

Happy first birthday Sammy Sam.
Mommy and daddy love you so!!!!
