It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood.

So, let's make the most of this beautiful day Since we're together we might as well say

could you be mine, could you be mine...
 Won't you be my neighbor...
ugh, isn't that song the most annoying song ever?
I've had it stuck in my head all weekend.

We really enjoyed the fall weather this weekend...

it was a perfect time to come home to Mogadore and play outside at mimi's.

I finally got all little boy's pants hemmed up about 2 inches, thanks to this amazing creation I just discovered -- called stitch witchery.
I don't own a needle and thread, so the iron on method is right up my alley.
Now we just need to find the poor boy some shoes so he can stop wearing his sandals with socks.

This cold weather really snuck up on me.
(as did the crazy hot month of may we had.)
Preparing for a season change with kids is tough work.
But shopping is my favorite hobby so no complaints here.

doesn't my sweet little man look all GQ'ed??

This boy...

is significantly smaller than his big brother was at 3 months.
(think, 4-5 pound difference...)
so I thought I had a fall wardrobe for him, but it turns out all the long sleeve stuff is size 9mo and 12 mo.
I had forgotten that my little chunker Eli was in 12 months clothes when he was 6 months.
Sammy is getting himself a little belly

but no where near the likes of Eli's.

This is Eli at 3 months:

holy chubby thighs

The two of them definitely resemble each other, but don't look alike.

I think Sammy is looking like his mama

I wish my parents still had this red phone, LOVE IT!

Maybe more like me NOW...
don't you think we have the same smile?

I do.

We did a lot of catching up with family and old friends this weekend.
We celebrated Hoch's 35th birthday, and Bill McCain's retirement from the fire department.
I saw a friend from grade school I hadn't seen in 10? years and my little cousins went to homecoming for the first time.

There is something about fall that makes me all nostalgic.
Fall has always been the start of something new for most of my life...
the start of another school year for 18 years.
and the beginning of Eli and Sam's little lives.
Here is my post from a year ago today...read here.
Fall was the beginning for Mike and I.

clearly he loved me for my bangs and choker necklace.

I brought the bangs back for him.

This fall...
I am so excited about what's to come for our family.
Eli's face carving pumpkins, jumping in the leaves.
And christmas is just around the corner.
Children bring a new excitement to all the old stuff, and make it new again.
