We went up north for the weekend this past weekend.
Eli rode UP with daddy, home with mommy.
hauling nursery furniture was involved and moving car seats and boy, things are complicated when you try to travel around nap times.
I'm thinking we just WON'T do this when there are two.
Gracie turned THREE years old, so we had to be there to sing her happy birthday.
Gracie has never been a fan of being the center of attention.
1 year birthday
2 year birthday
This year we asked her if she wanted us to whisper happy birthday or sing loud.
and she said SING LOUD!
I think she got a little nervous at the end
but she's getting better at it! :)
I can remember being painfully shy just like her when i was young.
Eli had himself a good ol' time at the party.
He was kinda surrounded by GIRLS, but that's ok.
He found some cool girls toys to push around.
Once we got back to mi-mi's house (that's grandma Barb's new name), i found him playing with some of gracie's toys.
dolls specifically.
5 minutes later he was back to his tractor.
Eli had lots of fun at all his grandparents houses this weekend.
Lots of spoiling and fun things to get away with, like stair climbing and drinking chocolate milk.
(did you know Eli can drink a whole cup of chocolate milk in less than 20 seconds?
I think the chocolate milk will stay at mi'mi's house.)
We made home-made bubbles with uncle markie
and went to Wally Waffle with anna Jack and anna Michelle (and Gracie too!)
If we would have stayed 5 minutes longer, i think we may have been "asked to leave" wally waffle.
i was losing control, and again asked myself ... how will i do this with two??
i won't is the only answer i can think of.
I think it's safe to say we are finally getting over our sickness.
5 days of antibiotics in and Eli's nose is dried up and mine is getting there.
Eli's runny nose has been replaced with the diaper rash from hell....
which we have never really had to deal with before.
I let him run around naked in the bathroom so he could "air out" last night...
and he peed on the bathroom floor.
he looked at me while he was doing it like, uh-oh mom, is this supposed to be happening?
i whipped him up some magical butt paste tonight at work and I'm hoping that will help cure his fire colored bum-bum.
i think it is bothering him a little, maybe a lot.
it's hard to tell when they won't talk to you.
yesterday after I changed him (I imagine that those wipes burn?)
he got really mad and was throwing a fit (not sure why, other than the burning butt)
and head butted my bedroom window THREE times in a row.
I ignored him after I made sure he was still conscious.
little boy has a temper and it's a little crazy sometimes.
I like to think he takes after his father, since I have heard he was the same way.
As for a pregnancy update, Sam is still cooking, and livin' large it feels like.
He moves around a ton, and is moving my belly in front of the lap top as I type.
My belly is large and very low. I don't remember Eli being this low.
I have made NO progress on his room, since Mike went to get his furniture Thursday and hauled it home, only to find out the headboard of the bed was cracked in half.
They replaced it, but not for 2-4 weeks.
I have looked through clothes and organized some of that, which has made me feel a little accomplished.
And we have THIS...
so cute!
Still, so much to do and never enough time!
And everyone keeps reminding me how much crazier my life is about to get.
:) :) :) :)
Tomorrow is an Eli/Mommy day.
I'm hoping to relax and get back to our nap schedule and of course, to cure the butt rash.
Also, would love to have us both breathing out of our noses by the end of the day.
I forget what that's like.
I'm sure Eli will be good for atleast two rounds of playing in the sink.
or all day if i let him.
Peace out girl scouts.
(girl scout cookies are IN!, mine are on the way!)
