Easter Sunday

Anyone that has spent at least 10 minutes with Eli in the past 3 months is probably pretty certain we did NOT color Easter eggs this year.
I laugh to myself when I see other kids his age on facebook, sitting nicely with their egg balanced on that metal ring, smiling at the camera.
HA!
Not Eli.
Eggs or cups of dye alone would not be a good idea. The combination? maybe next year.
My wild child liked his Easter basket.

What's not to like?

and of course, Peeps.

I think Peeps are disgusting, but the girls at work guilted me into giving him SOME kind of candy.
It took a little convincing, but in the end, Eli liked his peeps.
He also got an Easter basket from Grandma Candi and Papa Jeff, and another from Mimi and Papa Mark (who he is now calling BIG papa?).
I didn't mention the Easter bunny this year.
The whole concept seems a little dumb if you ask me, but I'll see next year.
A giant bunny that comes to your house and hides eggs?
I feel guilty filling his head with that nonsense.
It's hard enough trying to explain to him about a baby that is in my belly.

We are more and more challenged when it comes to discipline over here.
Eli likes his time-out chair, and asks to sit in it to color and play with his trucks.
Crap.

Our Easter Sunday was an Eli/Mommy day.
We played with matchbox cars, read books, colored with sidewalk chalk.
I opted OUT of church, for obvious reasons. (see above.) (or below.)
We had a nice Easter, even though Mike was at work.
(We had a nice visit from Grandma Candi, Papa Jeff, and anna Jack on Saturday!)
Eli helped me with Sam's room a little (he really likes talking about the baby.)
And he has swiped Sam's blankets a few times already.
(fresh, soft, fleece blankets, I don't blame him. His are looking a little ragged.)

We had such a nice day today, me and Eli.
Temper tantrums were kept to a minumum.
That's my kinda day.
