It's been a boys' week this week. Mike had the week off while I worked and wau-wau and papa were in Texas. I think (KNOW) that daddy is exhausted but they had a fun week. The boys took a trip to downtown Columbus where they went to see the Shoe and ate lunch at the oval. They read books ((the same ocean book 10 or 20 times, involving random facts such as sharks EAT penguins. Also the anglerfish is a really really really ugly fish.)) They had dinner at McDonald's, dinner with Anna Jack, dinner together with turkey burgers on the grill. No mom is ready for a weekend at home with her boys.
Eli seems to have a new crush at school. Her name is kaelyn and Eli notices everything that she wears ... Down to her purple scarf and her black shoes. Most days he comes home reporting her outfit and really pays attention to her shoes. A little boy after my own heart. I hope I've taught him well, that accessories are everything.
This week Sammy fell and busted his lip pretty bad. We were hoping that it would take care of that piece of skin between his front teeth, but no such luck. He did however end up with a big fat lip and lots of blood, but were all healed up now. Sammy talks so much these days. He says things like Sammy do it, I do it, Sammy wear that, Sam's turn. He's also turn into a little Eli and we write in the car he says things like red car, stop sign, bump, toe truck, semi, ambulance. Between the two of them you can practically drive with your eyes closed and they can tell you what's going on ahead.
They've also come up with this new saying "spankin' boy." I think Eli came up with it during one of his random energy bursts. Now they take turns saying it (("SPANKIN BOY!!")) and then making a farting noise afterwards and then laughing hysterically . I think it's hilarious until they do it when we're in public.
They are quite the little dynamic duo these days. Partners in crime. Almost, dare I say, friends.
I love it.
