oh gosh, pardon our absense. it has been way too long.
we have had a busy week, with an ultrasound, Mike's promotional party, the basement project, baby nursery shopping, and a string of visitors.
Wednesday, Thursday, Friday we had grandma Candi, then Friday, Saturday, Sunday, we had grandma Barb. Now tonight we have anna Jack!
And let's not forget work, because that never goes away.
Still working on HOW to go part time before Sam gets here.
Still working on HOW to go part time before Sam gets here.
So from the beginning, our ultrasound...
was great!
minus the part about not being able to see Sam's face.
he is head down, and his face is facing my back.
and he is curled in a nice little ball.
see?
everything checked out with him ok, all the little measurements they needed...
and he even flashed us his boy parts.
it really truly LOOKS like a little penis huh?
too bad his face looks like something out of a horror movie
can you see? it's a sideways shot and his eye sockets are HUGE in this picture.
it's so distorted.
but she was able to get his genitals just fine.
typical boy.
the good news is that there was one picture of the heart she could not get,
a front angle with all 4 chambers,
so we get a repeat ultrasound next appointment,
and she promised to get plenty of 3D pics of sam's face.
in other pregnancy news,
the weight gain has begun, and no I will not tell you how much.
but I asked to take my shoes off at this last appointment when i saw the number on the scale.
oh well... it comes off. (i hope!)
also, sam has now gotten big enough (15 ounces they say) that his kicks and jabs now feel like kicks and jabs.
and he does NOT like it when I lean against the pharmacy counter at work.
I can't wait for Eli to feel and see what he thinks of his little brother kicking him.
my mom has been able to feel, but that is the only other person so far.
Mike has his party last night, with Shawn Farley and Jason Bendure who also got promoted.
It turned out really nice and Mike is currently nursing his hangover that he claims he does not have (in bed.)
So what you really probably are here for is pics of the crazy man.
so here he is.
how bout a little bed head and a jimmy john's sub that is bigger than his jaw?
i love his rosy cheeks when he wakes up from a nap!
our second snow of this winter.
10 days left in February ... maybe it will be the last??
it has be so sunny and warm this winter that it has hardly felt like winter.
aside from the Eli not being able to play outside in his pool.
but never fear, he has found a substitute.
if he is awake 12 hours in a day, he is playing in the sink 10 of those hours.
the other 2 he is asking to play in the water.
or crying because i said no.
he gets the stool and carries it up to the counter and plays in the sink.
if he is lucky, i fill up the sink with bubbles.
he is soaked, my floor is soaked, my counter is soaked.
he even leans over and sticks his hair under the faucet if you're not watching.
this new favorite past-time-- he calls "stool".
don't ask me how many times I've heard him say stool this week -
and it's totally my fault because I introduced him to this activity.
I think my child is obsessive.
every waking moment since friday(?) he has wanted to do this.
he doesn't care about his tractors or any other toy.
the other reason that I think he is obsessive is because he has abandoned "purple" and now everything is "blue".
maybe by the time he is 5 he will name every color.
I guess if he is obsessive, he is only taking after his momma.
and his daddy.
but mostly his momma.
have i told you i am obsessed with peanut butter cheerios?
or sam is obsessed with peanut butter cheerios.
you should try them.
we will be back later this week with more pics.
sadly those are all the pictures I have after a week... so not like me!
