half way there

20 weeks today.
Uploaded from the Photobucket iPhone App
we have 2 active little boys.
I'm getting lots of kicks from the inside and the usual Eli craziness from the outside.
today Eli was playing so nicely with these plastic little balls from Target...
i was texting on my phone (sitting on the floor right next to him)... and i look up at him and he wings a ball as hard as he can and it hits me square in the forehead.
and i think... do i really have no control over this child??
i think i'm doing this wrong.
sigh.
he's such a boy.
but he's so cute.
have  i mentioned that he does not respond to any form of discipline?
no-no is a game. he likes to point back at you and tell you no.
and yes i have spanked him and that does not phase him.
our newest plan involves a forced time out and i would tell you how we are planning to "force" this time out, but you might call children's services on us.
if it works, then i will share.
we gotta get him to stop throwing things before this baby gets here.

in other news...
Eli's bedtime ritual now includes his constellation turtle - which projects stars on the celing/walls.
he loves it and has replaced us cuddling on his rocking chair before he goes in his crib.
putting clothes in the washer and dryer is still fascinating.
today we went to lowes to pick out some stuff for the basement, and you would have thought eli died and went to heaven when he saw the aisle full of front-loader washer and dryers.
he was counting them (and by counting, i mean, two, two, two)
and looking in the doors to check out the insides.
it was his favorite aisle in ANY store EVER...
until we went down the toilet aisle.
i couldn't drag him out.
he had to open the lid and look inside every one.
all the while saying pee-pee, pee-pee.
a lot of other customers offered their advice that maybe he was ready for potty training.
not so lowes shoppers. the boy is just looking for some water that he can splash in.

we play the game of hiding things a lot too.
eli likes to hide things and ask where they went, and then find them.
his usual hiding places are between his legs, behind his back, and in the couch cushions.
oh the things we do for entertainment!
all the toys any kid could want and he plays in toilet water and with nail clippers.

i can't believe very soon we will be doing this times two!
