aaaaah, a weekend at home.
so so nice.
i've been pushing the easter celebrating for eli.
we colored eggs, got out easter baskets, bought an easter lily,
and most importantly, we started our talks about Jesus.
He mostly looks at me like I'm not making sense, until I talk about heaven.
That boy likes to talk some heaven talk.
And he knows how to yank on your heart strings JUST right.
he gets the part about heaven being up, and grandpa bill is in heaven with Jesus.
He informed me today (after one of his inquisitive moments of silence) that he was going to heaven by HIMself to sit on a cloud with grandpa bill.
yank.
and that grandpa bill can see his tractors up there.
yank yank.
wow. i hope grandpa bill can see the tractors and everything else too.
we gotta believe he can.
sam worships eli.
he can be in the worst mood, and eli laughs at him and he instantly starts smiling ear to ear.

we are still NOWHERE near being about to trust the two of them in a room alone together...
but...
baby steps. baby steps.
eli says, i want to play cars with sammy. i want to race sammy on his jeep, i want to take a bath with sammy.
i really don't think he remembers his "life" before sammy anymore.
I really believe that he likes Sammy most of the time, but sometimes he just doesn't have his best interest at heart, for selfish reasons of course.
Today I heard Eli race Sam down the hall in his jeep toward the garage door.
Eli can running back, with NO sam.
I said, "Eli, where's Sam?"
His reply, with a very large amount of matter-of-fact in his voice.
"i parked him."
Sure enough, down the hall, in the dark, Sammy was backed into his parking spot. Alone.
Fwends.

Forever.
Eli has some HOARDING BURIED ALIVE tendencies that I am trying to nip in the bud, but ya know, it's not working so great.
Mommy? Put these animals in a bag?
No eli... if you can't carry them all you have TOO many.
Yes he is IN this bed. I promise.
Mike tried implementing the rule of TWO.
Two animals in bed.
Two animals downstairs at one time.
As you can tell, it's working beautifully. :)
I think we are ALL ready for some time outdoors.
Time that doesn't involve boots and gloves and hats.
we flew a kite outside on the "first day of spring"... but it was very chilly.
and now it's snowing a LOT...
Sam is such a sweetie.
His smile melts my heart.
His smile melts my heart.
He has no interest in crawling, and wants to stand all day long.
Tomorrow we go for his 9 month well check up.
I hope it's okay that Sammy is doing things on his own timeline.
At this age, Eli was crawling and pulling up and was ALL over the place.
He had 8 teeth (to sam's 2) and was pointing outside and saying tree.
not to compare, but i always compare.
and eli had that crazy look in his eyes even when he was a little baby.

Eli even had sammy beat on the hair growth too.

Poor Sammy, he will probably always be compared to Eli.
(this is my favorite site to see... sammy's white rooster hair sticking up from behind the chair.)

one more day off with my boys.
i'm determined to get sammy to drink out of a sippy cup
which he thinks is ridiculous.

and eli and i have some trucks to play with.

then it's back to daddy day care.
