Big boys

I went for a late run tonight, and when I came back, mike told me Eli had been cryin for his mommy. So I snuck in his room, and there he was, like a little kid -- laying all tucked in his toddler bed, blankets up to his neck, head on his pillow. ( he never has slept on his pillow. He wants it on his bed, but not to lay on.) He whispered oh so cutely, "hi mommy." (Melt my heart.) We talked for a minute and I asked him about little papa being here for the night. I said "papa read you a book in your bed, huh?" Eli says "NO. Papa read me TWO books. Like this many (and then he shows me two fingers.) ... Little papa is now going to be the favorite bed time reader. Mommy and daddy only read ONE book.

In other news, I left Sammy sitting on the kitchen rug today to go get Eli out of bed this morning. (Yes, he still waits for me to get him out.) I came back and sam was on his belly by the basement steps. Hmmmmm... Not sure of the mode of transportation but I AM sure I will be getting baby gates up sooner than later.
