don't ever grow up

I could show you this and tell you that these two are such great friends now.

they play so well together.

Because one minute,
they are friends.
they do play well together.

The next minute,
watch out sammy your head's about to hit the floor.
watch out sammy, every toy you want is about to get swiped.

Eli is being a little butthole lately.
I get so frustrated with him for being SO mean to his brother.
Where did he LEARN that?

 

But then he has such a soft side to him, and then I feel guilty for paying Sam more attention, because that MUST be why Eli acts out.
(mom guilt.)

The "acting out" is reserved JUST for momma, by the way.
Eli has been revisiting time-out  a lot the last few days.
He also has to apologize to sam and kiss him.
ha.
it's working.

I hate having to discipline when I only see him for a few hours a day...but it's unreal the SWITCH that gets flipped when I walk through the door.
Sweet big brother Eli turns into a little monster all for a nice show for mommy.
I can't figure that out.
I don't think I ever will.

Little sammy sam has 4 teeth now.

even though you can't see through his horribly swollen gums. 

I think he is working on 5 and 6 as we speak.
poor boy.
He is still working on crawling...
and by "working" I mean not working
and by "He" I mean me.
I want him to crawl, just because some book says he is supposed to.
But Sammy has ideas of his own.

there is so much horrible awfulness going on in this world around us.

It seems like every week there is something new.

I wish I could keep these two little and innocent forever. 

It's unimaginable to me right now that I have to let them grow up and understand all the hurt and hate out there.
