Stubborn stubborn boys

Eli has nicknamed Sammy "trouble" and "pistol". He has repeated these names from wau-wau, and i think they might stick. Sammy is the most stubborn, head-strong just-turned-one-year-old I know. It's unbelievable really, how a little guy with a vocabulary of 5 words can effectively communicate with you EXACTLY what he wants, or more accurately, when you are NOT doing what he wants.

Eli is also stubborn, but he was NOT this stubborn this early. 

Eli is currently using his stubbornness to boycott any and all forms of potty training. I came home with dum-dum suckers, sure that bribery would be the key. Nope! " I'll have a sucker way-ter. I'll go potty tomorrow. " whatever. Next idea? He won't even SIT on the potty. Or discuss it at all. 

Maybe I could bribe him with new flip flops?

I'm just going to give him some more time. No one goes off to college in diapers ... Isn't that what they say? 

Sam went to his 1 year check up. He is our little guy ... Only put on a few ounces since 9 months. (21lb 11oz). He's about 40th percentile for both height and weight, and he's slowly messing up his hand-me-down wardrobe ... Since Eli was so big, all Eli's clothes are too big for the season. Looks like I get to shop for fall clothes since I doubt Sam will fit into Eli's 2t stuff.

We saw fireworks this week, and Eli watched from the corner of his eye with his face in my arm pit. 

He loved fireworks last year ... Small step backwards for 4th of July festivities. 

We also tried the Granville street festival , but we aren't quite ready for that yet either.

Fast rides -- nope. 

Whit's ice cream? Yes. 

Flags and dressing fun-- yes!!!

A big thanks to wau-wau (and papa) for this weekend. Michael Michelle Markie mike and I all got to go to the OAR concert and stay out all night like when we were young(er)! Thanks wau-wau!!

Now I'm exhausted...kids are asleep so I should be asleep too!!
